One Night @ Data Centre

Before starting to write anything in this topic, let me inform you that it has nothing to do with the title 'One night @ call centre'. Infact, I saw the similarity only after coining the term myself.

Well, if you follow my blogs regularly, you already know that I am not a great believer in nightouts. Again, when I had my third nighout, the things were not in my control. Again due to the office work. This time I am missed the first semifinal of the IPL 2, not to mention the blitzerring knock by gilly(85 off 35), my overseas favourite cricketer.

It took us more than one hour to reach the datacentre, where we needed to work for a couple of hours. As happens with me in these kinds of situation, we had to wait for some time before we were allowed to enter. Finally, we started our work.

At that time, I didnt know that I am going to have yet another unwanted nightout. A lot of hurdles were waiting for me there in that so called small cabin of servers. I started my work and got a few unwanted problems to solve which not only confirmed my overnight work but also started to irritate me a bit.

Somehow, I did finish my portion of work taking more than required time which only ensured that my colleague had got less time to do his part. When it was almost the morning, we had to leave the work halfway as my colleague had got some more work to do in the morning.

So, that confirmed my third nightout. This time I do confirm that I am going to have a few more. :)

The biggest mistake of my Life

Today, 22nd January 2009, I made the biggest mistake of my life till date...!

I believe, I am a kind of person who thinks a lot, well a lots of lots and lots of thinking. That may be one of the resons why I take comparatively a bit longer time than others in a few occasions ( infact that's also one of the reason why I take comparatively a lesser time in most of the situations - Chances are there that I had had thought a lot by then ! ).

But, ya there is a 'but', sometimes even that amount of thought is not enough, though there may be some other reasons for the same like carelessness, over confidence etc for the same. Or, as it is frequently said - jo hona rehta hai wahi hota hai.

Today, I made the biggest mistake of my life. It was mainly due to my carelessness or, toput it better, temporary loss of a small but significant data from my mind. I accept that it could have been avoided had I been a bit more careful.

I'll not repeat this kind of a mistake again in my life again. I am going to keep this always in my mind. I have to change my basic approach a bit and to take a few things in a different way. Let me start those few things affresh.

Wish me 'all the best'......

My NightOuts

For the students preparing for some engineering entrance exams(and needless to say their future i.e. engineering students too), Night Out is like a small project to be completed a few number of times. For engineering aspirants it spreads over a longer time and depends upon will but for the 'already' engineers, it comes whenever they hear something sounding familiar to test/exams/sessionals/mid-term/end-sems.

I am not a great believer of the NO's - why to waste my time of sleeping doing something else! So, I had very few NOs - today is the second one..!

I had my first NO in a strange way. When we(strictly referes to Ravi and Amit) were preparing for our entrance exams in Makalu House,Jamshedpur; we once just thought of determining who can remain awake for the longest period among us[ofcourse conditions(studying necessary) apply]. We studied the whole night. The result was contradictory - infact it was just the reverse of what was expected! Amit and Ravi slept around 5 and 6 resp and I could manage half an hour extra. It is expected of us to learn lessons from various situations of life. I learnt a lesson. Never try for the next NO unless things are not in your control - Otherwise you are gonna loose the next precious day of your life. Ya, we all slept the entire next day :).

During clg days, most of the engineering students experience the amazing feeling of NOs. I didn't.

Now, I am on for my second NO. This time, I am enjoying it. I do remember my lesson. But this time, things are not in my control. As per a goal of being a platform expert, due to some unmentionable work, I am having a good time in the office (I did took rest for around 2 hrs).

I know the NO loving guys and gals reading this blog are definately against this view. For them, comments are welcome.

About Me

Well, here is me...!

Nowadays, there are so many networking & social sites doing rounds in the internet. One of the frequent question to be fill in that is ''about me''. Whenever I come through this question, I always give it a little bit of thought. Which is the stuff I am supposed to write in this column? There are so many things 'about me' which cant be written in that space. There are many things which can be written but not necessarily. Still, there are stuffs which needs a bit time to be formulated. And there are few things which we end up writing - a few of them being copy pastes.

I think the best way to know a person is to spend a considerable amount of time with him/her. How much time - it depends upon the person whom you wanna know about. There are a few persons who open up very easily and show the signs of real self - typically around a month may b sufficient to know such persons. Still there are people who are not ease at sharing everything with everybody so early. They take time, infact most of them needs to be pushed a bit to open up. Mostly shy people come in this category. There is a third kind of person, who don't share much even if you are very close to them. They like to keep something detached from the rest of the world and probably shares it with only one person in lifetime (obviously the life partner). I feel that I come in the last category but am changing and shifting towards the middle one.
